Με την «Πέμπτη Εξουσία», αμφιλεγόμενη ταινία για τη γένεση της ιστοσελίδας των WikiLeaks, άνοιξε το βράδυ της Πέμπτης, 5 Σεπτεμβρίου, το 38ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου του Τορόντο (TIFF), του σημαντικότερου Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Βόρειας Αμερικής.
Ο Βρετανός ηθοποιός Benedict Cumberbatch υποδύεται τον Julian Assange στην ταινία.
Ο Γερμανο-Ισπανός ηθοποιός Daniel Brühl υποδύεται τον Daniel Domscheit-Berg, πρώην εκπρόσωπο του WikiLeaks και πρώην δεξί χέρι του κ. Assange, του οποίου το βιβλίο ενέπνευσε την ταινία.

With «The Fifth Estate», controversial film about the genesis of the site WikiLeaks, opened on the evening of Thursday, September 5th, the 38th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the most important festival of North American cinema.
The British actor Benedict Cumberbatch incarnates Julian Assange in the film.
The German-Spanish actor Daniel Brühl incarnates Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a former WikiLeaks spokesman and former right hand of Mr. Assange, whose book inspired the film.

«Massive Operation of Propaganda»
Directed by Bill Condon, The Fifth Estate traces the career of the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange and to what led to the unprecedented release of thousands of sensitive information in 2010.
This world première, is only a few weeks after the sentencing to 35 years in prison for Bradley Manning, convicted of passing some 700,000 U.S. official documents to WikiLeaks.
Julian Assange, still in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, has not seen the film, but he read the script. In January, Julian Assange called the film «massive propaganda campaign» against WikiLeaks, through the columns of the Guardian and also felt that contained scenes unrelated to reality. For the festival artistic director, Cameron Bailey, «… This film has one or more ways to understand Julian Assange and WikiLeaks..».

Réalisé par Bill Condon, Le Cinquième Pouvoir retrace le parcours du fondateur de WikiLeaks Julian Assange et de ce qui l’a conduit à la divulgation sans précédent de milliers d’informations sensibles, en 2010.
Cette première mondiale a lieu seulement quelques semaines après la condamnation à 35 ans de prison de Bradley Manning, reconnu coupable d’avoir transmis quelque 700 000 documents officiels américains à WikiLeaks.
Julian Assange, toujours réfugié dans l’ambassade équatorienne de Londres, n’a pas pu voir le film mais il a lu le script. En janvier, il qualifiait le film d’ «opération massive de propagande» contre WikiLeaks dans les colonnes du Guardian, estimant en outre qu’il contenait des scènes sans rapport avec la réalité. Pour le directeur artistique du festival, Cameron Bailey, «…ce film offre une ou plusieurs manières de comprendre Julian Assange et WikiLeaks..».
